NICVA recently met with Senior DFP Finance Officials to discuss the process of the 2016/17 budget.

At the meeting Officials delivered the attached presentation highlighting pressures on the budget, public expenditure context and the timescales involved in agreeing the budget.

The Executive have agreed that due to time pressures associated with the timing of the Westminster Spending Review and the fact it is a one year budget there will be no consultation on the 2016-17 budget.

In lieu of this formal consultation process NICVA will be arranging Stakeholder Engagements with each of the Departments in the New Year so the sector can give their thoughts to the relevant officials.

The budget will be based on the nine new departments, as set out in the ‘A Fresh Start’ Agreement
