New development opportunities

The development of our staff and volunteers is key to the success of our organisations and providing effective services. Those that participate on our programmes tell us that the skills and confidence gained make a real difference.

On 25 April it was great to hear the 15 participants on the ILM level 5 Diploma in leadership and management group give short presentations on what they had learnt. They all shared how they had made improvements to their own personal effectiveness, their team, their project and in some cases their organisation. It was inspiring to hear the stories of change and how for many of them the course had allowed then to reflect on their practice and has been a significant turning point for them.

We have already people enquiring about the next ILM level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management so we have scheduled one to start on 13 September. This course is ideal for people managing teams and projects, it will help you reflect on your practice, improve how you work with your staff, volunteers and teams and give you the skills and confidence to make positive changes in your workplace. It is a great opportunity to network with other managers and leaders in the sector and support and learn from each other. It is always very popular so please book on to secure your place as soon as you can.

We are offering other accredited training in the next few months. The ILM level 3 award management of volunteers is a course that we deliver over 2 days in June in partnership with Volunteer Now. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to develop processes and structures for involving volunteers as well as how to motivate and support them. The TQUK level 3 award in education and training is perfect for those who would like to improve their training skills and gain new ideas and techniques, as well as gain a recognised training qualification. It is for those that have been training for years and would like a qualification or those who are new to training and what to learn the skills.

We have some other one or half day training sessions planned over the next few months all designed specifically for our sector, focused on increasing your skills and improving your confidence; such as Managing staff, Presentation skills, Risk assessment made easy and Future Fundraising Fitness.

Please let us know if you would have particular training needs or would specific topics include in the training calendar. We also provide all of our training on a bespoke basis for your organisation at a time and place that suits you, your board, volunteers and staff.
