The workforce survey 2014 found that the top five barriers to people participating in training were: lack of training budget, training too expensive, inability to release staff, sourcing relevant training and travel costs.

NICVA bespoke training can overcome each of these barriers making it much easier and most cost effective for you to develop your staff, board members and volunteers. We can provide training that is specifically designed to meet your needs at a time and place that suits you, thus reducing time out of work and need to travel. It can also work out less expensive to bring a trainer to you as opposed to sending your staff to training. For example if you send someone on a day training course it costs £75 for NICVA members, however if we come out to train 12 of your staff it will cost about £45 per person.

NICVA offers tailored training a wide range of topics some examples are listed below:

  • Roles and responsibilities of boards
  • Risk assessment
  • Leadership skills
  • Teacher/trainer training
  • Recruiting and selecting staff
  • Managing staff
  • Time management
  • Coaching and mentoring
  • Project management
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Presentation skills
  • Effective partnership working
  • Developing  your fundraising mix
  • Developing a fundraising strategy
  • Completing successful funding applications

NICVA also offers accreditation through The Institute of Leadership and Management (levels 3 and 5) and Training Qualifications UK (levels 3 and 4). We can combine units to tailor make a qualification that best meets your staff and volunteers needs.
