Northern Ireland Affairs Committee launches inquiry into devolution and democracy in Northern Ireland

The Northern Ireland Affairs Committee launched its inquiry, Devolution and Democracy: dealing with the deficit last week.

The inquiry will look at solutions for restoring devolved bodies and accountability as well as investigate the need for further intervention from the UK Government. It will also examine the impact of no NI Executive on communities, public services and businesses. It will look at what can be done in the absence of an Executive to ensure there is a voice for NI especially in the ongoing Brexit negotiations.

The NI Affairs committee invites written evidence on its enquiry. The closing date for the submission of evidence is 29 December 2017.
