Practical GDPR guidance from Fundraising Regulator and IOF

NICVA welcomes the joint guidance on GDPR released by Institute of Fundraising (IoF) and the Fundraising Regulator (FR) and reviewed and co-badged by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

This free bite-size guidance provides clear and practical answers on the questions that many charities are asking. It gives an overview of GDPR for charities and fundraisers, looks at different fundraising methods, and identifies ways in which personal data is likely to be used in each case. The resources also signpost to more detailed guidance from key sources to fully equip fundraisers ahead of 25th May 2018.

The guidance is designed specifically for fundraisers and those in smaller organisations, and focuses on practical application of the law to real life scenarios.

This really useful guidance is supported by regulators and membership bodies across the UK and we encourage everyone to use it to help them comply with GDPR and process and manage data following best practice.
