East Belfast Community Capacity and Leadership Programme
NICVA is partnering with Interaction Institute, TIDES training and Youth Action to deliver the East Belfast Community Capacity & Leadership Programme managed by East Belfast Community Development Agency.
This training programme, funded by the Social Investment Fund, aims to work with community groups and individuals in East Belfast to improve their capacity and leadership. It will help groups identify solutions to address the challenges and issues that they face in their local communities. The programme aims to improve leadership skills and confidence and provide the chance to work together and network with others.
It is for groups and people involved in groups in East Belfast in the following wards:

The programme will include:
Training calendar – there will be a training calendar offering a range of courses from half day sessions to three-day courses, some of these will be accredited. You can book online for this training.
Bespoke training – we arrange to come to groups - staff, volunteers and/or committee members - and deliver the training of their choice at a time that suits them best. This can also be delivered for clusters of groups and individuals to suit their needs.
One to one support – individual support for leaders and managers on specific issues.
Facilitating sessions/meetings – dedicated facilitator to facilitate a discussion or help groups talk through an issue or plan together.
Roundtable workshops – large events where groups come together around a relevant theme to discuss practice, provide peer support and network.
Governance reviews – supporting the group to complete the governance health check and writing a report based on a review of the governance, making recommendations and providing suggestions for improvements.
Some examples of the training topics we are offering are:
