Detail Data Conference: Open Data for Funding, Citizens and Services

Primary tabs

11 January 2017 -
9:30am to 4:00pm

Detail Data is hosting its first conference in January. Come along to learn and contribute to how the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector can use data to better inform itself, access funds, lobby for change, support collaboration and develop new and better services for citizens.

Open data is an emergent field in Northern Ireland. The public sector is publishing data and building online services for citizens, businesses are basing their decision-making on open data, and developers are building new services and products through access to freely-available information.

Voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises can also benefit from these new models of creativity, innovation and public engagement. As with any groundbreaking domain, there are challenges for organisations in technology, skills, resources and following best practice.

Our speakers will talk about what they're doing and what drives them, the challenges they've faced, and the impact that they're creating.

We'll also have a series of hosted workshops with OpenDataNI, 360 Giving, Pauline Roche (RnR Organisation), Stevan Barry (Save a Selfie), Jason Bell (Mastodon C), Brian Cleland (Open Government Network), Austin Tanney (Analytics Engines) and from the Detail Data team themselves.

Detail Data is a partnership between NICVA and The Detail and is funded by Big Lottery NI and Atlantic Philanthropies.
