22 May 2018 -
10:00am to 4:00pm

This is an updated training session covering the essentials of lobbying and campaigning . NCVO has stated that Campaigning is about creating change – for people, for causes and for the long term. They say Charities have a long-established role in campaigning, in starting public debates and in holding the government to account. By speaking out about the causes that matter to them, charities have shaped changes in behaviour, public attitudes and government policy, helping to make the world a better place. The policy team will help you understand the mechanisms of lobbying and how to create such a campaign.

This is an interactive training session that will cover the following objectives:

• what is lobbying is, why we do it and how to get better at it

• How to undertake a campaign

• Who to lobby and on what issues.

• What mechanisms are available to lobby- NI and beyond

• Develop new skills and understanding of policy and lobbying
