Improving public influence on planning issues and developments – an expert seminar

On Friday 9 February 2018 NICVA, in conjunction with the Consultation Institute, will be hosting an expert seminar and roundtable discussion on improving public influence on planning issues and developments. At the event representatives of voluntary and community sector organisations will be provided with an opportunity to hear from leading experts in the field of community consultation and public engagement in planning.

Rhion Jones (the Consultation Institute) and Penny Norton (author of ‘Public Consultation and Community Involvement in Planning: a twenty-first century guide’) will highlight the key challenges and components of achieving successful and effective consultation and community involvement in the planning process, based on the findings of over 100 case studies.  Attendees will also hear from Louise O'Kane (Community Places) and Aidan Campbell (Rural Community Network) on ‘Learning from the ‘Re-thinking NIMBYism’ Project’ – Improving Engagement in the Planning Process' and share recommendations on how to improve Northern Ireland's planning process

Please note that places at the event are strictly limited and early booking is essential. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis and limited to one person per organisation.
