This course has been developed to encourage and support non financial managers in particular with essential skills and knowledge to manage budgets and resources for their department or organisation. You can decide if you want to complete just the training modules or along with the 2 assignments will lead to a Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management. You will have 2 months access to online resources provided by Global Management Academy who NICVA is working in partnership with to give you access to a broad range of training materials and support.

The two courses you will undertake are as follows:

Course One

Budgeting and Cost Management

  • Understanding Budgets
  • The sales budgets
  • The labour budget
  • The production budget
  • The materials and equipment budget
  • The overhead budget
  • Selling and General Admin budget
  • Finalising the budget
  • Monitoring the budget
  • Budgeting Best Practices

Course Two

Managing Materials and Equipement

  • Understanding resources
  • Purchasing and Materials Planning
  • Stock control and Inventory
  • Storing and Allocating Materials
  • Managing Equipment - Purchasing
  • Managing Equipment - Storing and Allocating Equipment
  • Maintenance
  • Ensuring the Safe Use of Resources
  • Managing Resource use
  • Improving resource management

Induction will take place on Thursday 17 May 2018 from 1-2pm online.  Access to the training materials will then be available from 19 July 2018.  Please register for a place to receive instructions to join online for further details.
