Social Innovation Decoded: What is Social Innovation in Practice?

14 October 2016 -
10:00am to 12:30pm

NICVA is delighted to be part of the Unusual Suspects Festival in Northern Ireland on 12-14 October 2016. A three-day festival of ideas, debate and discussion all exploring what happens when social innovation meets collaboration and how together we can solve some of society's most pressing challenges.

If the term social innovation sets off your jargon alarm and you’d really like to cut to the chase and try it out, this is the session for you!

You’ll learn more about the social innovation concept and how it’s really something anyone can try.

There will also be an opportunity to try out one of the key methods involved in social innovation so you can see for yourself whether it can help you find new solutions to whatever societal challenges you’re passionate about.

‘Design thinking’ is a creative approach to problem solving that starts with the people you’re designing for and ends with new solutions that are tailor made to suit their needs.

Finally we’ll tell you about some exciting new opportunities to go deeper and access development support for your own social innovation journey.
