TQUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Primary tabs

25 January 2018 - 10:00am to 1 March 2018 - 4:00pm

The Award is an introductory qualification for anyone wanting to teach or train others. It will not fully qualify you as a teacher, but it will give you a good idea of what it’s like to teach. You can then take a further teaching qualification if required.

The Award is ideal if you are not yet in a teaching role, have just started teaching, or just want to know what’s involved. It is the first step on the teaching qualifications' ladder.

The Award is made up of the following three units at level 3 on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF)

  • Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
  • Understanding assessment in education and training
  • Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training

Classroom sessions will be held from 10am-4pm on the following dates:

  • 25 January 2018
  • 1 February 2018
  • 8 February 2018
  • 1 March 2018

On the 4th date (1 March 2018) you will be required to deliver a 30 minute micro-teaching session as part of the assessment process.

"Working as a Trainer in the Community and Voluntary sector I found that completing this course gave me the ability to confidently evaluate how I plan, deliver and reflect on presenting my training sessions. In particular the course gave me the skills and understanding to enable me to confidently support the individual learning styles and needs of a diverse group of learners. This allows them to get the most out of the training session and then I can professionally assess them and measure their individual progress. The course was delivered in an energetic and positive way, encouraging participation from all the class and giving everyone the chance to ask questions and explore each other’s experiences. I would recommend this course to anyone who delivers training of any kind regardless of how much or little experience they have, as it encourages and promotes professionalism and best practice within this ever challenging sector" - Sam Duncan
