About the JRF programme on public interest in poverty

This new research is part of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation programme on public interest in poverty which provides research and runs other activities to support organisations building public support for action on UK poverty. It builds on findings and recommendations of earlier work which looked at media coverage of poverty and also at challenges to campaigning . Earlier work identified the lack of public awareness of the extent and reality of poverty in the UK along with the lack of representation in the media of people with experience of poverty as challenges to building support for change. These reports look at how to change that situation.
