Community and Volunteer Fundraising
Community and volunteer fundraising is a short introduction or refresher course for people who want to learn more about raising money from the general public.
The course is aimed at people who are new to fundraising from the general public or who want to refresh their skills or potentially increase their success rate in raising funds from the community.

Objectives
- Explain what community/volunteer fundraising is
- Identify the key target market of individuals and groups for community fundraising
- Describe the steps required to establish a group and recruiting people to local fundraising groups
- Identify fundraising methods and techniques that can be used in community fundraising
This course includes workshops on raising funds through individual, social/recreational and media techniques. It will also look at methods to develop fundraising volunteer networks. How to make best use of tax effective giving and the effective use of social networks alongside traditional fundraising tools.
As places are limited and demand is usually high please make your booking as soon as possible and at least one week before the event. Individuals cannot be registered without receipt of a booking form.

Cancellation fee
If you wish to cancel your place at this event you must inform at roisin [dot] kelly [at] nicva [dot] org by email five working days in advance of the event date. If you inform us less than five working days or not at all and do not attend you will be invoiced for the full cost of the event.
Getting here and Parking
NICVA has a number of free parking spaces available for those attending events. Unfortunately these can't be reserved and are available on a first come basis. NICVA's spaces are clearly marked and we would ask that visitors only use spaces allocated to NICVA when attending an event.
Parking is also available on Duncairn Gardens and surrounding areas within close walking distance. NICVA is also a short walk from Yorkgate Train Station and you can easily catch a bus from the city centre (no 1D) direct to Duncairn Gardens, or (no 61 and 64) to Cityside Centre (a few minutes walk).
