Dealing with difficult people

Dealing with difficult people is designed to enable you to identify and deal with conflict and sources of conflict in the workplace.

Dealing with difficult people
Location:

NICVA,
61 Duncairn Gardens,
Belfast,
BT15 2GB

Start:
17 January 2012 - 10:00am
End:
17 January 2012 - 1:00pm
Cost:
£50 members/£70 non-members

How did you handle the last time you had to deal with a difficult person? Are you still thinking about it? Worried this might happen again? Is there such a thing as a difficult person?

Conflict is a fact of life, it's natural, even normal! This programme will look at what is difficult behaviour and help us identify what makes us and our colleagues difficult. Participants will be given a tool to use that will help them deal more assertively with the difficult person (if that person exists) and find solutions that will help us change difficult behaviour.

This session aims to:

  • Identify what is difficult behaviour
  • Raise awareness of our own feelings and behaviour
  • Identify why some people are difficult and decide what action we can take to deal with the behaviour

Getting here and Parking

NICVA has a number of free parking spaces available for those attending events. Unfortunately these can't be reserved and are available on a first come basis. NICVA's spaces are clearly marked and we would ask that visitors only use spaces allocated to NICVA when attending an event.

Parking is also available on Duncairn Gardens and surrounding areas within close walking distance. NICVA is also a short walk from Yorkgate Train Station and you can easily catch a bus from the city centre (no 1D) direct to Duncairn Gardens, or (no 61 and 64) to Cityside Centre (a few minutes walk).
