Equality Champion - The Recruitment Panel
As part of the Equality Commission / NICVA Equality Champion HR Role Specific Seminars, this event will provide employees involved in recruitment & selection panels with an overview of the key equality related aspects of their role.

Module Aim: To provide employees involved in recruitment & selection with an overview of the key equality related aspects of their role
Learning Objectives: By the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to:
1. Consider how existing equality laws relate to recruitment & selection.
2. Consider recommended best practice relating to recruitment practice in areas such as:
- Job analysis
- Recruitment Advertising
- The Application Process
- Selection Methods
- References & Other Checking
- Positive / Affirmative Action
3. Consider issues relevant to individual equality grounds including reasonable adjustments required under the Disability Discrimination Act.
4. Explore case study exercises based on relevant tribunal decisions highlighting recommended employment practice.
The Equality Champion Programme has been designed to assist employers of all sizes within the voluntary sector. The aim is to assist each organisation to identify the appropriate type of training for employees with specific responsibilities relating to the promotion of equality. This training is part of a series of role specific equality modules relevant to staff at different levels within the organisation. Participants will be awarded a CPD Certificate acknowledging the relevant learning objectives.
Role Specific Seminars comprise a range of standalone modules relevant to staff at different levels within the organisation who will have specific equality related responsibilities. Two seminars are scheduled in spring but others can be scheduled based on demand.
