Key Equality Policies
This is the first in a series of 5 best practice workshops designed to assist voluntary sector employers seeking to benchmark their current employment policies and procedures against recommended equality best practice.
Module Aim: To assist employers seeking to benchmark and review their main equality practices against best practice equality indicators.
Learning Objectives: By the end of the seminar participants should have had an opportunity to have considered:
- The key elements of the anti-discrimination legislation which outline the requirement to promote equality of opportunity and prevent discrimination.
- Equality indicators for:
Promoting equality of opportunity
Preventing Harassment
Equality Monitoring
Affirmative or Positive Action outreach work
- Factors Case-law and examples highlighting factors relevant to specific equality grounds.
- An implementation plan outlining the key steps to take when developing / reviewing relevant employment policies.
- Signposting to additional guidance & supporting materials
