An all new diycommitteeguide website will launch on 6 March 2009. This seminar will give a 'hands on' demonstration of how to use this fantastic new resource with practical examples of how you can use the site to help tackle your governance issues.

The DIY Committee Guide website is a central point of access to a wide range of practical, user-friendly resources for voluntary management committees. The all new site has been restructured to provide support for organisations working to implement the Code of Good Governance (LINK). As the DIY Committee Guide's online resources have now been mapped to each of the seven principles of the Code, it will really help groups to use the Code as a tool to develop good governance.

Registration and refreshments at 10.30am.

The seminar will give a 'hands on' demonstration of how to use this fantastic new resource and participants will get a chance to try out the site for themselves with practical examples of how you can use the site to help tackle your governance issues.

There will also be presentations from key stakeholders who endorse the Code. Roy McGivern from the Charities Implementation Team in the Department of Social Development will speak from the impending Charity Commission's point of view about how the Code can be used to help Charity Trustees fulfil their duties. The seminar will also hear from Walter Rader, Director of the Big Lottery Fund on how important an organisation's governance is to a funder and also from Arlene Spiers, Chief Executive of The Ulster Cancer Foundation which has used the Code with its board.
