Policy Forum - Men - Neither here nor there networking event
NICVA’s Men’s Policy Forum is holding an event in the Long Gallery, Stormont on Tuesday 27 September. The event will also bring together a diverse range of organisations from across Northern Ireland to discuss the current issues facing men, learn about developments in a number of on-the-ground projects, share experience and highlight resources and build relationships between projects.
On the day, there will be representatives from community based projects that work with men to provide examples of some of the challenges faced alongside a viewing of a DVD produced by the Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, showcasing work carried out at a grass roots level.
The NICVA Men’s Policy Forum meets regularly to encourage greater participation and enhance the capacity of the voluntary and community sector organisations working with men to engage more proactively in policy issues.
The Men’s Policy Forum aims to;
- Offer the opportunity to, and facilitate the sharing of, information and models of best working practices among member organisations.
- Work collectively to: identify gaps in government policy; raise awareness of the needs of males; and address inequalities for men in Northern Ireland.
- Provide capacity building for individual member organisations, and will seek to support the establishment of a ‘men’s sector’ in Northern Ireland.
The event will be followed by lunch.
