In light of the recommendations of ‘Positive Steps’ and in response to the growing interest in governance, NICVA and the Volunteer Development Agency are hosting a half day seminar to consider how and what our sector needs to do to improve on governance.

This event will update you on policy developments and drivers for change in governance including developments in England and Wales; facilitate discussion around the governance issues affecting the sector; and consider the need for a governance hub type body for Northern Ireland.
The event will kick off with presentations to provide updates on policy developments and drivers for change in Governance. Participants will then be offered the opportunity to raise questions on these before breaking out into workshops. The workshops will allow for discussion on: the governance issues affecting our sector at present and how these may be resolved; and to consider the need for a ‘governance hub’ for Northern Ireland and its role.
The seminar will commence with registration at 9.45am and finish at 12.30 with feedback and plenary session (lunch will be provided).
