This training has been tailored specifically towards the communications needs - and pockets - of not-for-profits. Using a range of realistic scenarios, based on the subject matter you need to deal with and the media you are most likely to face, our training will give you the confidence to succeed in your contacts with the media and will encourage you to look forward to the next time a journalist calls.
During the workshop each participant should have the opportunity to experience two media interviews and they will be able to review their performance at the end of each. The training has been designed to ensure that all participants will leave equipped with the requisite skills to act as a spokesperson for their organisation.
You will learn:
- how to get your message across with style and confidence
- to take the fear out of media interviews through practical experience
- how the media operates and will be taken behind the scenes of the newsrooms
- the skills and techniques for handling different types of interviews - radio, TV live and recorded
- understand the journalist's agenda, needs and language.
