How to address under-representations in the workforce

This workshop at NICVA on Friday 19 October 2007 aims to assist voluntary sector employers seeking to develop positive or affirmative action strategies to attract applicants from groups currently under-represented in their workforce.

By the end of the workshop participants should have:

  • Considered positive action measures allowed under existing equality legislation
  • Considered affirmative action measures allowed under the Fair Employment and Treatment (NI) Order 1998.
  • Examined an implementation plan outlining the main steps to consider when developing a positive or affirmative action undertaking.
