Deforestation

None of us can have missed the recent media interest in climate change and all things related, but what does it mean for us as a sector?

This event aims to raise some of the issues among a broader audience and allow you to find out more about what you can do as an organisation.

Programme

10.00 Coffee and Networking
Come along in good time to have a cuppa and view some of the stands and resources available on the day.

10.30 Showing of An Inconvenient Truth
Al Gore's Oscar-winning documentary is informative, thought-provoking and a little frightening and will no doubt benefit from a second viewing if you have already seen it.

12.15 Panel discussion, chaired by Sue Christie of Northern Ireland Environment Link
Speakers from a range of organisations will have a few minutes each to tell you about their impressions of the film and what it means for Northern Ireland. Then we will move into a plenary question and discussion session, allowing you to raise any issues that you would like to know more about.

1.15/1.30 Lunch and networking
Lunch will be available and this will give you a further opportunity to talk to participants and visit the display stands.

Registering

To register for the event, please contact Cathy Breslin by email or telephone 028 9087 7777. Please inform her of any access or dietary requirements.

If you wish to bring along a stand or resources, please get in touch with Cathy as soon as possible. Please note that you should be there well in advance of 10.00am to get set up.

I am interested in networking with others interested in using animals, insects and plants as bioindicators of localised climate change. My main interest would be in insects.
