This series of seminars aims to provide organisations with information on a wide range of policy issues which impact on the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. The seminars will examine popular concepts that we all know exist, but have never really understood the meaning of. They are aimed at all voluntary and community organisations that have an interest in policy.

The Burden of Proof

Speakers: Tom Reid, OFMDFM, Margaret Ward, WRDA

Rural, gender, equality, poverty, human rights, environmental and not to mention integrated. All new policies are subject to a myriad of proofing but what does that actually mean in practice and does it make any difference? This seminar will explain proofing from the point of view of the civil servants who have to do it and the organisations who called for its implementation.
