This series of seminars aims to provide organisations with information on a wide range of policy issues which impact on the voluntary and community sector in Northern Ireland. The seminars will examine popular concepts that we all know exist, but have never really understood the meaning of. They are aimed at all voluntary and community organisations that have an interest in policy.
Hey Big Spender?
Speakers: David Gavaghan, Strategic Investment Board, Seamus McAleavey, NICVA
Northern Ireland’s infrastructure is getting a £16billion face lift. The Investment Strategy and Economic Vision say that schools, hospitals and roads will benefit. Good news, right? But which schools, which hospitals, which roads? Who makes the decisions and will this massive investment make any difference to the way we live in NI? This seminar will examine the Northern Ireland Investment Strategy and the vision for the future of Northern Ireland that drives it. It will discuss how issues important to the sector like social inclusion, urban and rural development, the creation of a shared future, targeting social need and anti-poverty and equality will be affected by the investment.
