You are what you eat
Presented by Lyn Donnelly, Southern Area Investing for Health Partnership
Does the food we buy really have an impact outside our own health or our own homes? How come it is easier for us to buy apples that come from South Africa rather than from Armagh in our local supermarkets?
This workshop will explore the impact of the food we eat on the environment we live in and vice versa.
This workshop is part of NICVA’s Annual Conference - Building Tomorrows World – which has a great programme of speakers and workshops plus information stands and exhibitions to allow participants to find information that is relevant to them and their organisations.
Exhibitors will include Dublin based organisation ENFO with information on sustainable living, Action Renewables, Belfast City Council, Energy Savings Trust, WWF, Carbon Trust, Tools for Solidarity and Asset Management Ireland.
If you haven’t seen Al Gore’s amazing film An Inconvenient Truth you can grab a cup of fair trade coffee and watch it in a side room where it will be playing all day. If you are feeling more energetic you can make your own smoothie using cycle power. If the conference inspires you, confuses you or worries you, you can record your thoughts in our very own diary room.
