Disability action has secured an innovative contract with the Newry and Mourne Health Trust and now wishes to appoint to the following position:
SPECIALIST ADVISOR ON DISABILITY (Ref SAD/05)
The post holder will play a key role in the development of disability policy and initiatives within the Newry and Mourne Trust area, including providing expert advice on current activities within the disability sector. Candidates must have the following:
- a degree or equivalent professional qualification
- three years' experience of working in the area of disability, equality or diversity within the last five years
- at least one year's experience of working closely with public sector authorities on disability issues
- the ability to communicate effectively with disability sector organisations, the public sector and the private sector
- an in-depth knowledge of disability in Health and Social Care related legislation and policies.
Location: Newry
Salary: £18,404 to £23,814 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week
Tenure: fixed term to 31 March 2007 with the potential for extension to 31 March 2008
