Improvement Juggler from the Centre for Competitiveness has been tailored to boost productivity in the voluntary and community sector.
Majella McCloskey CO3, Sharon Griffiths DFP, Una McKernan NICVA and Adrian Gundy Centre for Competitiveness launch the Improvement Juggler.
Voluntary and community organisations can keep on top of their game with a new scheme to help them benefit from the expertise used to boost productivity in the private sector.
Improvement Juggler has been tailored to small and medium-sized public and voluntary sector organisations with input from the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action (NICVA) and CO3 (formerly the Association of Chief Officers of Voluntary Organisations).
It is an initiative by the Centre for Competitiveness (CforC) along with the Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) to create a specially tailored version of CforC’s Business Juggler package, which has been widely used and acclaimed by Northern Ireland’s small firms.
Dr Adrian Gundy, CforC senior executive for innovation, said:
Business Juggler was designed to help small firms make the most of their limited resources by providing a simple mechanism for them to assess their business in order to identify strengths and weaknesses.
It provides an assessment that identifies where the firm can best employ its resources to achieve improvement and growth.”
The programme recently received an award from the EU as one of the best business improvement tool for small firms in Europe.
We consider Improvement Juggler an ideal means for organisations to begin their journey towards organisational excellence. It is aligned to the highly regarded European Foundation for Quality Management Excellence Model, which is used successfully by tens of thousands of organisations across Europe. Having used Improvement Juggler, organisations can then begin to work their way through the EFQM process.”
Dr Gundy said it was important to ensure that all was being done to underpin the concerted efforts of agencies and groups.
In the voluntary sector, organisations have to boost their competitiveness as an ever-growing number of charities vie for money and share of voice. Improvement Juggler is an accessible and effective means by which they can do so.”
