Certificates will be presented at celebration events on 15 and 16 January 2008 and the next big date in the calendar is the Gala dinner on Thursday 7 February 2008. World-famous actor and director Kenneth Branagh has already thrown his support behind the Link Awards.

Branagh, who is President of NICVA took time off from promoting his new film Sleuth to praise the crucial role of voluntary and community organisations in creating a better society, especially in Northern Ireland, where they have contributed greatly to building peace

"This work needs support from the private sector and from society generally. The NICVA Link Awards celebrate the wonderful efforts already being made, but they also encourage us to do more and to do it better."

He also urged people to buy their tickets for the awards ceremony.

"Lots of people deserve a treat, so don’t forget to buy your tickets for the gala dinner on 7 February – sorry I can’t go myself."
