Understanding the BudgetNICVA has collaborated with Combat Poverty Agency in the Republic to produce a guide to finding your way round the budget. The guide has two sections, one for the north and one for the south, as the budget processes are quite different, but both will be of use to organisations working in both jurisdictions.

The guide sets out how the Northern Ireland budget is prepared every year, both under direct rule and under devolution. It shows at what points in the process voluntary and community organisations can try to influence the spending decisions and how this work can be planned for throughout the year. It also offers a helpful case study on how one group of organisations successfully brought about a change in teh government's spending plans.

Copies of the guide are available from Lynn Anderson at NICVA on Icon of a telephone 028 9087 7777 or Icon of an envelope email: lynn.anderson@nicva.org. The cost to cover postage and packaging is £2.00.
