NICVA's response to Civil Service Commissioners for Northern Ireland - Recruitment Code: Equality Impact Assessment.
NICVA welcomes the Civil Service Commissioners’ draft EQIA on their revised recruitment code and its aim to ensure equality, fairness and openness.
NICVA argues that to achieve this aim, there needs to be more data collection, work to redress under-representation in the categories of race, sexual orientation, dependants and disability and efforts to consider issues of multiple discrimination. We also suggest some ideas to encourage diversity in the service.
