NICVA's response to A Modern Regional Policy for the United Kingdom. July 2003.

In responding to the UK Treasury’s consultation document A Modern Regional Policy for the United Kingdom, NICVA (the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action) has called for the UK and Irish Governments to seek agreement for a Third Peace Programme with the European Union.

The general thrust of the document is to separate regional policy between the existing fifteen member states of the European Union and the new ten accession countries. The document proposes that the Structural Funds should concentrate on the ten accession countries and that the existing fifteen member states should fund their own regional policy.
