This seminar would be suitable for all employees in the voluntary sector seeking an introduction to equality law. Common themes such as direct and indirect discrimination are explored as well as the unique requirements of Northern Ireland’s Fair Employment Legislation.

Seminar Aim: To provide an overview of the main responsibilities placed on employers and employees through the current framework of equal opportunity legislation in Northern Ireland.

By the end of the workshop the attendees should be aware of:

  • The groups protected under employment equality legislation in Northern Ireland
  • The key elements of this legislation;
  • The responsibilities placed on both employers and employees under this legislation.
