Monday 23 June 2008

Questions to the Minister and deputy First Minister

North Belfast MLA Fred Cobain will ask whether a Cost of Living sub-committee of the Executive will be established.

West Belfast MLA Fra McCann will ask for details of the extent of joint working between Departments in the promotion of sustainable development.

LaganValley MLA Trevor Lunn will ask what plans their department has to reduce the number of peace walls.

East Antrim MLA Roy Beggs will ask when the next meeting of the Children’s Ministerial sub-committee will be held.

East Londonderry MLA John Dallat will ask the Ministers to confirm that the new draft policy on Cohesion, Sharing and Integration will not involve a reduction in the present level of funding available under the separate strategies once they are amalgamated.

West Belfast MLA Paul Maskey will ask the Ministers how they intend to target resources for interface areas which continue to suffer the effects of segregation and sectarianism.

West Belfast MLA Sue Ramsey will ask the Ministers how they will contribute to the imminent meeting of the United Nations Investigating Committee on Compliance with the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women.

Foyle MLA Mary Bradley will ask for details of the levels of funding for Play and Leisure Policy in comparison with other parts of the UK.

Mid-Ulster MLA Michelle O’Neill will ask what action is being taken to ensure that ethnic minority groups play a full role in the development and implementation of the Cohesion, Sharing and Integration Strategy.

Upper Bann MLA George Savage will ask what progress has been made on the review of the Community Relations Legislation.

Foyle MLA Pat Ramsey will ask when the Anti-Poverty and Social Inclusion policy will be published.

Questions to the Minister of the Environment

West Belfast MLA Paul Maskey will ask the Minister what assessment he has made of the impact of climate change; and what action he is taking to address the issue.

North Down MLA Peter Weir will ask the Minister what progress has been made on the reconstitution of the Strategic Leadership Board and the newly constituted Policy Development panels.

Questions to the Minister of Finance and Personnel

West Belfast MLA Jennifer McCann will ask the Minister how the recent Procurement Guidelines can be applied to create equality of opportunity and deliver the Executive's priorities of tackling poverty and disadvantage.

North Down MLA Peter Weir will ask for an update on the latest developments in the Performance Efficiency Delivery Unit.

Foyle MLA Mary Bradley will ask the Minister to detail the main lessons taken from the study produced for his Department by A2B, 'Access to Benefits on take-up of Rate Relief and Disabled Person's Allowance', and what plans he has to implement these findings.
