An examination of the range and scope of recruitment advertisements for voluntary and community sector posts.
This report examines the range and scope of recruitment advertisements placed in the Belfast Telegraph JobFinder pertaining to voluntary and community organisations, to determine an overall estimate of advertising costs and the extent to which organisations excercise cost-effective recruitment advertising.
Information on job title, salary, length of contract, hours of work, qualifications and experience, as well as funding information was collated for a period of 15 weeks, from 6 September - 13 December 2002.
The research also looks at recruitment advertisements placed in the Irish News during this period as a means of comparing advertisement costs.
The findings of the research suggest that the voluntary and community sector is susceptible to high recruitment advertising costs and should aim to excercise a greater degree of cost effectiveness with regard to recruitment advertising.
