Participants on the 'HR Awareness and Skills' training

Human Resource issues are having a bigger impact than ever before on managers' jobs in the voluntary and community sector. Not only must they be skilled in dealing with people, but also up to date in their knowledge of employment law.

The first round of NICVA’s new HR training began on Thursday 22 January 2004. The course, entitled ‘HR Awareness and Skills’, provides a comprehensive overview of procedures, legislation and good practice.

The training is being delivered as part of NICVA's Management Development Programme which aims to develop the managerial skills of the sector so as to create active and effectively managed communities.

The course is facilitated by DMS Personnel Consultants (Ireland) Ltd . The next call for applicants is autumn 2004.
