Jerry Greenfield, one half of the famous international Ben and Jerry’s ice-cream brand will be the keynote speaker at Building Tomorrow’s World, the annual conference of the Northern Ireland Council for Voluntary Action on 7 December.
Frances McCandless, Director of Policy at NICVA said:
"Ben and Jerry’s is a successful global company which really takes its social and environmental responsibilities seriously. NICVA is delighted to be able to offer our members the chance to find out more about the impact the private sector can have on communities and the environment.”
Jerry Greenfield’s speech will be the culmination of a day of workshops and expert speakers examining how voluntary and community organisations can become more sustainable.
Frances added:
"One of the strengths of voluntary and community organisations is that we are flexible and innovative. It’s often the local community organisation or voluntary agency that is at the cutting edge of trying new ways to get things done.
NICVA members are also very socially aware and this conference gives us all a chance to examine the impact our organisations are having on the environment around us and learn from others about how they have followed best practice in sustainability."
