As part of the Peace II Extension Programme, the Cross-Border Consortium comprising Co-operation Ireland, the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and ADM/CPA is calling for funding applications.

The aim of the Peace II Extension Programme is to reinforce progress towards a peaceful and stable society and to promote reconciliation.

All organisations can apply for this EU funding, with the exception of political parties and proscribed organisations.

All projects must be genuinely cross-border and must impact upon the target area for this Programme - i.e. Northern Ireland and the six border counties of Ireland.

The Cross- Border Consortium invites applications under the following measures:

  • 5.3 Developing Cross-border Reconciliation and Understanding
  • 5.4 Promoting Joint Approaches to Social, Education, Training and Human Resource Development

Examples of cross-border actions supported under measure 5.3 include:

  • Community based initiatives; particularly those targeting marginalised and vulnerable groups which involve inclusion, confidence building, counselling and service provision;
  • Social partner organisations and voluntary and community sector co-operation strategies and projects, especially those linked to the economic renewal and social, economic and potential transition themes of the programme;
  • Collation and dissemination of good practice which will help sustain cross-border work in the long term.

Examples of cross-border actions supported under measure 5.4

  • Training, education and counselling initiatives that facilitate and improve access to the labour market;
  • Information and specific activities that will facilitate and promote cross-border job mobility;
