Far reaching changes to local government in Northern Ireland will be the result. Local government, with the sector and other relevant stakeholders, lies at the heart of future local decision-making, particularly through the new Community Planning role. This will require the forming of new relationships between the voluntary and community sector and district councils.
NICVA felt it was important to ask the why? how? and what? questions. The attached research paper outlines what these changes potentially mean to the sector in Northern Ireland and sets out a number of suggested recommendations to prepare to operate in this new environment.
