With only hours to go to the prestigious Link awards extravaganza, NICVA’s preparations for the big evening are complete. The champagne is on ice for the winners of the hugely prestigious awards. Canapes are being lovingly scupted, napkins are being folded, and envelopes are being secretly filled with the names of the winning organisations.
The Link Awards celebrate good relationships between the voluntary and community sector, businesses, and wider society in Northern Ireland, encouraging groups to publicly show their appreciation for the help they’ve received from the business sector.
As an established plank of Northern Ireland’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) landscape, the awards put on record the endeavours of the business community to support groups supporting others, culminating in an elegantly sparkling awarding ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast, on Thursday 28 
September 2006.
This year sees the event hosted again by long time friend of the awards, UTV's Paul Clark. He'll be joined on stage by the immensely talented Sue Cleaver, whose acting credits span the critically acclaimed Band of Gold and the ascerbic Dinnerladies, before landing the role of Eileen Grimshaw in Coronation Street.
With a reputation for sharp and witty badinage through her North of England improvisational comedy troupe Comedy Express, she may be the first to bridge the coneptual gap between acting Margaret Thatcher and celebrating the successes of corporate support for charity, and we very much look forward to having her present the awards.
Rounding it all off with a comedy set from acclaimed Irish comedienne Tara Flynn, Link this year promises to outdo its excellent previous incarnations.
