A lunchtime seminar at NICVA, facilitated by the Joint Government/ Voluntary and Community Sector Forum will explore the differences between working in the public and voluntary/community sectors through the experiences of two speakers each offering "a view from the other side."
The seminar will take place on Monday 17 November from 12.30 - 2.00pm at NICVA and is the first in a series of training events from the Joint Forum, with the aim of sharing good practice and building stronger relationships between the voluntary and community sector and Northern Ireland departments and their agencies.
Speakers
The guest speakers at the seminar will be Ian Walters, Chief Executive of Action Mental Health, and Louise Warde-Hunter, Head of Early Years, Youth and School Finance within the Department of Education. They have both built up considerable experience working in both sectors, and will provide some practical insight into effective partnership working.
This seminar will appeal to any individuals or organisations interested in the relationship between the voluntary and community sector and Northern Ireland Departments. A light lunch will be available from 12.00pm.
About the Joint Forum
The Joint Government/ Voluntary and Community Sector Forum (known as the Joint Forum) was established in October 1998. The Forum seeks to provide opportunity for open discussions of key issues which impact on and shape the relationship between the voluntary and community sector and Northern Ireland Departments and their agencies. It also provides a mechanism whereby the sector can contribute to early thinking in the development of public policies which affect communities and issues with which it works.
