Stormont ‘skill-duggery’

Building research capacity

For the second year running NICVA has teamed up with ARK, the Northern Ireland Social and Political Archive, a joint initiative by the University of Ulster and Queen’s University to provide an introduction to basic research skills to voluntary and community sector organisations

EU survey shows good practice

As a result of President Barroso’s visit to the NI Assembly in May 2007, the European Commission established a special taskforce on Northern Ireland. The taskforce - made up of key EC officials and their Northern Ireland counterparts - is currently examining the extent to which Northern Ireland has been involved in EU programmes and policies and identifying examples of best practice.

A panel survey carried out by NICVA has good news and bad about Positive Steps. Nearly all voluntary and community groups have heard of Positive Steps but well over half (57%) are still not aware of how it is being implemented.
