Having fun and doing good

Raising money for good causes can be great craic and a wonderful way to develop team building in businesses and other organisations. Nominees for the NICVA Link Awards had 101 ways to enjoy themselves in their fundraising. The winners of the final Link Awards will be announced at a gala dinner on 7 February.

Health ... and everything else

There has been a lot of controversy about how much Northern Ireland is spending on health since the draft Budget was published. When health erupts on the public it’s usually about what the media see as a good issue – where should a maternity unit be based, should a new hospital be nearer Omagh or Enniskillen, why are people dying from MRSA in hospitals? All of these are important and emotive questions, very often a matter of life and death, but other vital issues rarely surface.

Nail-biting begins for Link

Entries have now closed for the 2008 NICVA Link Awards in association with BT and supported by the Belfast Telegraph and the judges are beginning their work. Over the next month they will decide which companies, public bodies, schools, colleges, clubs and societies will come out on top.
