Mission

RSPB Northern Ireland creates a better Northern Ireland for wildlife and people. Here's our vision:

We will showcase our combined hard work to halt biodiversity loss by making every effort to bring the iconic corncrake back to Northern Ireland and working with our partners to manage and rebuild habitats and landscapes for wildlife and people, including those areas we manage as nature reserves. We will demonstrate our work to the Northern Ireland Assembly, government and our stakeholders and play our part in helping them to make the right decisions for the natural environment here.

We will be bring more people closer to nature at our people-friendly nature reserves and explore new opportunities. We will investigate new ways to inspire our young people to care about their natural environment and we will act locally to make us relevant to new audiences. We will find new ways of funding our work, accepting that some traditional sources of support are threatened in the current economic climate.

We will be seen as a nature conservation organisation that delivers in Northern Ireland, increase our membership to sustain our work, and ensure volunteers play a role in every major project we undertake. We will be a strong team of staff and volunteers that enjoy its work, minimises its negative impact on the environment, and knows it is securing a better Northern Ireland for birds and people.
