BBC Family Focus - lack of funding may lead to closure of vital services
The BBC's Family Focus on Thursday 11 March looked at the potential loss of vital services as a result of diminished funding. Frances McCandless spoke about the effect on the sector.
The nature of government funding means that groups are constantly struggling with short-term contracts and the endless search for the next pot of money.
With further cuts in spending expected after the election, there are more concerns than ever that some groups will simply no longer be sustainable. Frances explained how groups are vigorously planning ahead and gives examples of some of the measures being taken so that provision of vital services can continue, in this interview with Sarah Travers .
