Big Lottery Fund grant holders to benefit from development and support programme
A further seven organisations have been awarded a Reaching Communities NI grant from the Big Lottery Fund (BIG).
These organisations have the added bonus of being able to avail of training and support funded by BIG as part of the Development and Support programme delivered by NICVA. The final two sets of grant holders met for the first time at an information session held in NICVA on 26 August to hear more about what the programme had to offer them.
In total NICVA is now working with sixty-five Reaching Communities NI grant holders. BIG put in place this programme to support and build the capacity of grant holders to ensure the effective delivery of their projects and their outcomes.
NICVA will be working with these organisations for up to the next five years to plan training and support programmes that address their specific development needs. They will be offered training courses, bespoke development programmes and support sessions to help build the capacity of their organisations and develop their staff and volunteers.
Sandra Bailie NICVA Head of Organisational Development commented:
“The Reaching Community NI grant holders are delighted to have this extra support and greatly value the investment being made”.
This development and support contract demonstrates the Big Lottery Fund’s commitment to being an intelligent funder through acknowledging the organisation’s developmental needs and putting in place measures to support these.
The seven new grant holders are:
Northern Ireland Community Addition Service
Northern Ireland Council for Ethnic minorities
East Belfast Independent Advice Centre
