Impact of the recession - case studies from the voluntary and community sector
In April 2010, NICVA conducted a piece of work to investigate how the impact of the recession was affecting organisations within the voluntary and community sector, and how these organisations were dealing with these effects.
Over ten individual case studies were gathered from a range of both small and large organisations to form part of the paper. NICVA also used some previous research done in this area to support the case examples. The paper has been circulated to the Department for Social Development (DSD), as part of a wider discussion on the economy and activity of the sector in Northern Ireland. The case studies showcased some excellent examples of what organisations can and should do in order to protect themselves from the continuing financial crisis and the pending public sector cuts.
NICVA would urge all organisations within the sector to prepare themselves now, by planning ahead.
