Minister attends Dialogue on Democracy event
Margaret Ritchie attended NICVA's Dialogue on Democracy event, one of a series aimed at helping voluntary and community organisations and Northern Ireland politicians understand the role the sector can play in a democracy.
Former Head of the 10 Downing Street Policy Unit, Geoff Mulgan, joined the Minister for Social Development and told the audience about the role the sector plays in the common good, explained how it differs from both state and market and why its independence matters, and stressed that collective action in the public sphere is important.
