Tracking the cuts

If you've already been notified that you will suffer a reduction in funding as a result of the public sector cuts, NICVA would like to hear about it, in order to build a picture of the impact cuts will have.

The sector has worked hard over the past number of months to say that it will not accept unfair and disproportionate cuts. We now need to keep track of how the budget is affecting the most vulnerable people and communities.

If your group has been told its statutory funding will be reduced or cut completely, we want to hear about it. Your contribution will be crucial to building a wider picture of the scale of the challenge ahead. We can then share the impact cuts will have on people.

MY full time Information and Development Officer post has been made redundant due to DHSSPS budget cuts. The post has existed with the organisation for 11 yrs and is a fundamental part of the delivery of its care services of advice, information and support to the parents fo disabled children and young people across Ni. There will be no pick up of any of these servcies as far as we have been advised to date by senior management. The funding ran out on the 31st of March and the letter of notification of no further funding arrived the same day! The orgaisation as whole has had to let a number of frontline staff go across the uk but the Ni office is the worst affected.
