Air Ambulance NI

Air Ambulance NI is the organisation that fundraises for and manages helicopter operations for Northern Ireland's Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), provided in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.  It saves lives by flying consultants and paramedics direcly to trauma incidents, allowing onsite hospital ER-level care. It also slashes journey times for getting casualties to hospital.   It costs about £2m to run the service.
